Working with various down-to-earth materials: the tension to create something from scratch. I would not call myself a pure ceramic artist, but after years of painting the attractive force of clay has become unmistakable. Lead and wood show their own silent force and I find it exciting to combine these materials. Sometimes I work along a fixed plan but mostly ideas arise spontaneously: one object follows another. Emotion manifests itself in each new piece of art and it’s fascinating to see an object emerging from clay. Worlds lie behind the many figures which claim their own place in my studio.
